Scientific and Research Interests: His research interests revolve around issues related to communication dynamics and the formation of public opinion. He focuses particularly on Agenda Setting Theory and Framing Theory, examining how mass media influence not only what is considered important by the public but also how specific social and political issues are interpreted. At the same time, he studies the role of Gatekeeping, that is, the processes through which information is selected or rejected by journalistic and institutional mechanisms. Lastly, another area of interest is the phenomenon of group-mediated delusions, aiming to understand how social groups reproduce and reinforce distorted or false beliefs in public discourse.
Professional Experience: Prior to his current position, he was a Professor at the University of the Aegean and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Furthermore, he served as a Visiting Professor at Northern Michigan University, USA (1999–2000), the University of Cyprus (2012–2013), and Wheaton College, USA (2017–2018).
Scientific Work: He is the author of three books, two in Greek and one in English published by Routledge. He has published a series of academic articles in reputable journals, primarily of Q1 and Q2 ranking. He has presented at international and local academic conferences and participated in both international and local funded research projects. He also serves as a reviewer for scientific journals and is a member of several academic associations.
