- PhD in Smart and Intelligent Cities, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
Scientific and Research Interests: (1) Smart/Intelligent Cities: formation and evolution; strategy and planning; platforms for sustainability, growth, safety, and governance; web and mobile applications design and development; open data; Internet of Things; and future Internet technologies, (2) Cyber-Physical Systems of Innovation: smart innovation ecosystems; knowledge and innovation networks; user-driven innovation; platform-ecosystems; software applications and platforms for innovation; collective intelligence; technology transfer; collaborative new product development; digital marketplaces, and (3) New Media: web and mobile technologies for new media; immersive storytelling; social media; and civic media.
Professional Experience: Laboratory Teaching Staff, School of Journalism and Mass Communications (2014 – today). Researcher in research projects funded mainly by the European Commission (1995 – today).
Scientific Work: Research in more than 35 research projects focused on the intersection of emerging technologies and societal benefits. Research effort across diverse initiatives, including empowering citizens to achieve the energy transition, advancing renewable energy technologies, enhancing connected and automated mobility, improving building performance in order to increase energy efficiency, comfort and well-being, and combining creativity with maritime heritage to address pressing environmental issues. More than 20 publications in scientific & academic journals and conferences.
