Nikolaos Tsigilis

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.)
  • Master of Science degree from A.U.Th. (Sport Performance and Health).
  • PhD from the National Sports Academy of Bulgaria (Measurement and Evaluation).
  • PhD from the University of Thessaly (Organizational Behavior in Education).
  • Postgraduate specialization from Lancaster University, UK (Postgraduate Certificate in Applied Social Statistics).

Scientific and Research Interests: Application of research methods in social sciences, use of advanced statistical methods, psychometrics, and development and adaptation of measurement tools and tests.

Professional Experience: Teaching and research assistant at the University of Thessaly (2000–2008). Adjunct lecturer in the Master’s Program “Cognitive and Motor Development” at the University of Western Macedonia and in the Department of Psychology at the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield – City College (2009–2013). Faculty member of the Department of Journalism and Mass Media of A.U.Th. (2014 to present). Associate teaching staff at the Hellenic Open University as a tutor (2015 to present).

Scientific Work: Recognized research work with more than one hundred publications in international and Greek peer-reviewed scientific journals (h-index = 41). Presentations at international and local scientific conferences, as well as participation in internationally and locally funded research projects. Reviewer for several scientific journals and member of scientific associations (e.g., European Methodology Association, Psychological Society of Northern Greece).
