Scientific and Research Interests: Visual and political communication and semiotics, literary and cultural theory, media history, theory and education, cultural policy.
Professional Experience: His main teaching posts have been at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (School of Journalism and Mass Communications, 1996-), Hellenic Open University (MA in Cultural Management, 2004-16 and 2020-, MA in Contemporary Journalism Studies, 2017-2019), and the Scηool of Pedagogical and Technological Education, 1990-2003). He has also been involved in reforming the national syllabi for the humanities (literature, history), developing minority and intercultural education, and introducing visual, media, and film literacy in obligatory and adult education. Experience in designing and/or evaluating graduate programs in cultural management, journalism, and mass media, as well as in developing and implementing mixed-methods audience research in the field of performing arts (music, theater, film).
